BUILD Program

Oak Hills Center for Indian Ministries (CIM) and CHIEF Ministries have embarked on a new ministry venture called BUILD. It stands for “Biblical United Indigenous Leadership Development.” BUILD recognizes the need to come alongside Native leaders without them having to leave their homes and churches for extended periods of time to pursue ministry training. Our desire is to see strong, vibrant churches among Native American/First Nations people. Learn more.

Ministry and Outreach

Wah-Bun Chapel. Wah-Bun Chapel is a small church with a long history in the community of Ponemah, MN (Red Lake Nation). Ponemah, which is geographically isolated by its location on the peninsula between lower and upper Red Lake, has long been known as a center of traditional Ojibwe culture. This church is supported by Center for Indian Ministries and is currently staffed by CIM missionaries Micah Carpenter (pastor) and Sam Dodd (youth pastor), plus many volunteers.

Reflecting the Light Ministry (RTLM). Serving those that serve Native American & First Nation Communities. We come alongside pastors and missionaries by doing building maintenance, remodels and grounds work projects. We also, in most cases, cover part of the cost. In some cases, we cover all the cost or sometimes they just need a helping hand.  Reflecting The Light Ministry is a ministry partner of Oak Hills Center for Indian Ministries (CIM) in Bemidji MN.

United in Christ Conferences

Join us for United in Christ 2021 (July 15-17), a conference for people involved in Native and First Nations ministry or those wanting to be involved. The message of Jesus Christ is for every tribe and nation. At United in Christ 2021, we will:

  • Celebrate what God is doing around the world
  • Learn how Native and First Nations people are called and prepared to proclaim the gospel cross-culturally
  • Network with ministries working among Indigenous groups in the Americas
  • Be challenged and explore opportunities to unite with believers from other cultures to reach the nations together
